What it covers
This unit builds upon students' foundational knowledge gained from the Architectural Engineering Studio (ARC10004), extending their understanding into more advanced realms of design through merge engineering principles with energy-efficient design strategies. Through this unit, students will learn the principles of thermal comfort and architectural aerodynamics, acquiring essential skills in managing iterative design tasks with engineering precision. Emphasis is placed on cultivating innovative solutions for environmentally sustainable design, particularly focusing on facade retrofitting principles. Students will develop their abilities in complex design and communication through iterative design processes, as well as the creation of comprehensive drawing sets utilized in studio feedback sessions.
