What it covers
This course will introduce you to accounting practices and challenge you to consider how these might be impacted by the introduction of blockchain technology. You will also be introduced to institutional cryptoeconomics as a general framework to understand the blockchain economy and consider some of the political and ethical challenges generated by this new technology. In a project-based approach, you will be challenged to explore real world applications of blockchain technology as they resolve economic, social and political problems. You will interpret and analyse a range of accountability approaches and the implications of financial performance (measured in terms of cash flows; income statement and balance sheet performance) and compare and contrast approaches used in traditional and blockchain economies.
